Itanagar, March 16: The Indian Army’s Cheetah helicopter crashed in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. According to the details, the chopper crashed near Mandala, West of Bomdila town in the state.

A search operation to locate the missing pilots was initiated.

The Cheetah helicopter, on an operational sortie, reportedly lost contact with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at nearly 9.15 am today, Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, PRO Defence Guwahati confirmed.

Last month, Army Chief General Manoj Pande said the Army is looking at inducting around 95 Light Combat Helicopters and 110 Light Utility Helicopters (LUH) in the future as part of enhancing its overall combat aviation profile.
