Agartala, Oct 19: Rashtrapati Bhavan revealed that Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, a prominent BJP leader from Telangana, has been appointed as the new Governor of Tripura. This move is part of the government’s ongoing changes in various gubernatorial positions across the country. The appointment was made alongside another gubernatorial change, with former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das named as the new Governor of Odisha.
Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has a distinguished political career, having served as a national secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Prior to his appointment as Tripura’s Governor, he held the position of a BJP national executive member. Notably, Nallu also has experience as a three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Andhra Pradesh, showcasing his deep-rooted involvement in Indian politics.
As per the official statement released by the President’s Secretariat, “The President of India is pleased to make the following appointments: Indra Sena Reddy Nallu as Governor of Tripura and Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha.” The statement also noted that these appointments would take effect from the dates when Nallu and Das assume their respective offices.

In the state of Tripura, the previous governor was Satyadeo Narain Arya, who held the position of the 19th governor.
