Shillong, March 10: A blast occurred near the Syndicate Bus Stand, close to Them Mator (Harijan Colony), Ïewmawlong, Shillong, as confirmed by East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP), Rituraj Ravi, on Saturday evening.

The blast, reported around 10:30 PM, originated from a small abandoned house, with no casualties reported, according to an official statement. Damage was limited to the tin structure and a few nearby window panes.

Details on the extent of the damages are pending. Preliminary investigations indicate the blast may have been caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), as stated by the SP.
