Itanagar, May 27: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Recruit Training Centre (RTC) organized yoga and meditation sessions at the Centre in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.

In the programme, the officers perform yoga. A glimpse of the event has been shared on Twitter from the official account of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in a yoga session with Indian Navy personnel at Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka.

Last month, The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel deployed in the tough terrain of the Himalayas, performed Yoga in the snow-capped mountains at 15,000 feet.

The border police performed Yoga at the icy heights ahead of the 8th International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21 every year across the world.

Meanwhile, preparations are on for the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, which coincides with India’s ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of Independence.

Multiple programmes have been planned to take the message of Yoga across the world to a wider audience.

A curtain raiser event to mark the 100 days countdown to the Yoga Day was held on March 13 and a 75-day countdown event was organized at Red Fort.
