Itanagar, May 28: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Recruit Training Centre (RTC) in Papum Pare district organized a mini-marathon race on Saturday under the aegis of Fit India Mission and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The marathon was organized at a populated place in the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. Hundreds of Himveers participated in the run.

A glimpse of the mini-marathon race has been shared on Twitter from the official account of ITBP.

Last month, The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel deployed in the challenging terrain of the Himalayas, performed Yoga in the snow-capped mountains at 15,000 feet.

The border police performed Yoga at the icy heights ahead of the 8th International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21 every year across the world.

Meanwhile, preparations are on for the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, which coincides with India’s ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of Independence.

Multiple programmes have been planned to take the message of Yoga across the world to a broader audience.

A curtain raiser event to mark the 100 days countdown to the Yoga Day was held on March 13 and a 75-day countdown event was organized at Red Fort.
