Itanagar, May 22: Arunachalee mountaineer Kabak Yano has etched her name in history by becoming the fifth Arunachalee woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Hailing from Kamle district, Yano accomplished this remarkable feat on a Tuesday morning at approximately 11:50 am, marking a significant milestone in her mountaineering journey.

Currently pursuing her studies at Rashtriya Raksha University’s Pasighat campus, Yano has undergone rigorous training to prepare for this momentous challenge.

Her journey in mountaineering began with the completion of the Basic Mountaineering Course at the renowned Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling.

Building upon this foundation, Yano further honed her skills by undertaking advanced mountaineering training and a search & rescue course at the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) in Dirang, West Kameng.
