Kim Jong-un

North Korea, Feb 18: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made thousands of people stand in a freezing cold while he and his officials used hidden heaters during an event honoring his later father on his birth anniversary. Kim Jong-un is known for his brutal regime.

During the programme, electric wires were reportedly seen at the long desk where Kim was sitting along with other officials, suggesting the use of hidden heaters to keep them warm as the temperature was nearly -15 degrees.

“The long desk probably had heaters under there, judging by the large clump of wires heading under the red carpet,” an NK media wrote on Twitter.

However, thousands of people were made to stand without wearing gloves and caps for half an hour in the freezing cold and listen to his speech while praising his family.

The event marking the 80th birth anniversary of the North Korean leader’s father Kim Jong-il, who died in 2011, was held in Samjiyon city.

Comparing this celebration to past events, NK News suspected that the North Korean leader and other officials on stage may have been using heaters to keep warm.

‘Fear not, seems KJU, his sister, and top officials at the long desk probably had heaters under there, judging by the large clump of wires heading under the red carpet there. We’ve caught him with a heater before (2nd pic is at Jungphyong greenhouse farm in Dec 2019) (sic),” Zwirko tweeted.

Kim Jong-un, who took power after Jong-il’s death, organises ‘Day of Shining Star’ events across the country every year in memory of his late father.
