This recognition is not only a testament to the film’s excellence but also a tribute to the valorous Ahom General of Assam, Lachit Barphukan, whose remarkable life and achievements are at the heart of this cinematic masterpiece.

The 7th Chambal International Film Festival, held from September 9th to 10th, 2023, brought together a diverse array of films from 32 countries, including India, Taiwan, the USA, the UK, Vietnam, Egypt, Australia, Iran, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, and Turkey. Among this esteemed gathering of films, ‘Lachit: The Warrior’ emerged as the Best Animation Film, marking a significant milestone for Indian cinema and storytelling.

Directed by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, who serves as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF), ‘Lachit: The Warrior’ is not just a cinematic gem; it’s a labor of love and a historical tribute.
