Gangtok, July 22: A landslide struck Munsithang on the route to Lachen in North Sikkim on July 21, disrupting connectivity. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

North Sikkim remains cut off following a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) from last year, compounded by ongoing heavy rainfall that hampers road repair efforts.

The District Magistrate of Kalimpong updated on National Highway 10 (NH 10) restoration efforts, noting substantial progress.

According to the Public Works Department (PWD), the work is expected to be completed within a week.
