Gangtok, Oct 09: Heavy rain early on Sunday induced more than one landslide in Sikkim, snapping road connectivity between Gangtok and West Bengal.

According to a senior reliable, large boulders have jammed National Highway 10 at places 19 Mile and 20 Mile — among Singtam and Rangpo in East Sikkim.

The road leading to Gangtok from Singtam additionally lay blocked at 32 Mile, he said.

“It may also take a whole day to clean the particles and reopen the manner for traffic. Those traveling to Siliguri were requested to apply roads that pass thru Central Pendam or Pakyong to get to the West Bengal border,” the reliable added.
