New Delhi, May 07: Following an intense period of politically charged campaigning, the stage is now set for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, encompassing 10 states and two Union Territories.

Notable figures from diverse political backgrounds are poised to participate, heightening the significance of this electoral phase.

The states participating in Phase 3 include Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Goa (2), Gujarat (26), Karnataka (14), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (4), Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu (2).

A total of 1,300 candidates are in contention for Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha Polls 2024. Among the prominent contenders are Union ministers Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad), and SP Singh Baghel (Agra).

    Agra witnessed 43.67 per cent polling, Aonla 46.75 per cent, Budaun 45.44 per cent, Bareilly 45.96 per cent, Etah 48.93 per cent, Fatehpur Sikri 46.18 per cent, Firozabad 47.80 per cent, Hathras 44.63 per cent, Mainpuri 46.80 per cent and Sambhal 52.24 per cent, the Election Commission (EC) said.

  • West Bengal Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Chandrima Bhattacharya alleges that central forces are trying to intimidate voters in Bengal and sought the Election Commission’s intervention. “They are trying to stop the voters from giving their votes.
