Mumbai, Aug 10: Ahead of the 75th Independence Day, Bhatsa Dam, which supplies water to Mumbai and surrounding areas, has been decorated with tricolor lights.
The dam has attracted lots of attention. People visiting the area are making videos and sharing them online.
Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat shared a video on Twitter and said that “Our love for our nation flows just like the waters gushing out of this Bhasta Dam of Thane, Maharashtra lit with the colors of our Tiranga! What a wonderful celebration of the #HarGharTiranga campaign.”

To mark the 75 years of India’s independence, the Centre has decided to light up the historic buildings of the country with tricolor lights on August 15, Independence Day 2022.

150 monuments in total would be lit in a tricolor theme as part of the celebrations. Some of the monuments have already been illuminated.
However, this rule will not apply in the case of the Taj Mahal due to a special directive of the Supreme Court which says no lighting can be done on monuments at night.
