Tripura assembly session

Agartala, March 12: The first session of the newly constituted 13th Tripura assembly is scheduled to begin on March 24. A vote on account for the first quarter of the next financial year will be passed in the session as an interim arrangement until the full budget is passed.

The assembly secretary said governor Satyadeo Narain Arya has convened the maiden session of the newly elected MLAs at 11 am under the powers given to him in Article 174 (1) of the Constitution.

The speaker and his deputy will be elected during the session, which will also see the conduct of other legislative business.

Being the principal opposition with 13 MLAs, TIPRA Motha will get the leader of the opposition status though Motha hasn’t yet announced the name of its leader.
