Major fire Itanagar burnt down several shops and houses

Arunachal, Dec 19: In an unfortunate incident, four houses & four shops burnt down in a cylinder blast fire accident in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

Four rented rooms (SPT), four shops were gutted in a fire mishap at the Chimpu area of Itanagar.

The incident occurred around 7 am from one of the houses and engulfed the whole rented room within a few minutes. Properties worth lakhs were lost in the inferno including a two-wheeler. However, no casualties were reported yet.

The victim shared the sorrow and said that “We have lost everything, and we have nothing to wear or eat.” Criticizing the fire & emergency service for its late response, he also urged the government to increase Fire Station in the capital region so that such incidents can be averted on time.

The accommodations belonged to one Tadar Simi, informed Police. An Anganwadi center has also been damaged in the inferno. The reason for the mishap is yet to be ascertained but it could be due to short-circuit, added Police.
