Imphal, Oct 31: The Manipur government has sanctioned over Rs 5 crore to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the state, offering each individual Rs 1,000 in financial aid. This funding will also cover essential daily items for the IDPs, per the official notification.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh shared on Facebook that the funds would be distributed before Diwali and the ‘Ningol Chakouba’ festival to ensure timely assistance.

In a related event, the Chief Minister launched the ‘Run for Unity Marathon’ to mark National Unity Day.

Organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, the marathon covered around 4 km.
