Manipur Mann Ki Baat

Imphal, April 27: The BJP lawmakers in Manipur held a high-level meeting to discuss the upcoming “Mann Ki Baat” mega event in Loktak on April 30th, refuting claims of a dissident voice within the Biren Singh Government.

The Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, stated that Union Cabinet Minister Bupendra Yadav would be the chief guest during the 100th edition of “Mann Ki Baat” to be hosted in Loktak Lake.

Responding to media inquiries, CM Biren Singh clarified that the purpose of the meeting and the visit of Sambit Patra, the party’s northeast coordinator, and national spokesman, was to prepare for the upcoming mega “Mann ki Baat” event.

He added that the main agenda of the meeting was to direct all Assembly constituency MLAs to initiate district-level “Mann ki Baat” programs in all their constituencies.

While there were rumors that the meeting was called to address the state’s current political situation, CM N. Biren Singh did not respond to these allegations of party rift. This comes after four BJP MLAs resigned from the presidency, including MLA Karam Shyam, MLA Thockchom Radheshyam, and MLA Ragumani.

According to sources, MLA P Brojen did not attend the meeting due to personal reasons. However, all of the BJP’s MLAs were present at the meeting, along with CM Biren Singh, Sambit Patra, Manipur unit BJP president A Sharda Devi, and other top state party leaders.

The “Mann ki Baat” program, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, aims to connect with the people of India and discuss issues that affect them. With the 100th edition of the program to be held in Loktak Lake, it is expected to attract a large audience, and preparations are in full swing to ensure its success.
