Imphal, April 16: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh criticized the Congress on April 15, attributing the state’s current challenges to their “appeasement politics.”

Singh asserted that had the Congress taken measures such as border fencing, the situation wouldn’t have deteriorated to its current state.

Expressing gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his recent visit to Manipur, Singh highlighted the reassurance Shah provided regarding border security and the issue of illegal immigrants.

Shah’s commitment to preserving Manipur’s unity and integrity under BJP governance resonated with Singh and the Manipuri populace.

During his visit, Shah reaffirmed the BJP’s pledge to safeguard Manipur’s unity, emphasizing that the state’s integrity would not be compromised under BJP rule.

Singh echoed this sentiment, criticizing the Congress for neglecting to fortify borders during their tenure, which he believed could have prevented the influx of migrants and subsequent turmoil.

In a rally held in Imphal, Shah reiterated the BJP’s dedication to preventing Manipur’s disintegration and restoring peace under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

He assured that the BJP would address the root causes of the ongoing ethnic violence, reaffirming their commitment to the state’s stability and prosperity.
