The incident, linked to disputes over illegal drug trade revenue, resulted in the tragic deaths of four villagers at the hands of cadres affiliated with the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), the political wing of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

The incident highlighted the severe consequences of criminal activities related to the illegal drug trade. CM N Biren Singh visited the injured at Raj Medicity and condemned the acts in a heartfelt video message, urging the people of Lilong to maintain peace.

Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment against lawlessness, emphasizing that strict measures would be taken against those resorting to vigilantism.
