Manipur, June 2: The Manipur govt allowed additional activities to be operational in the seven districts of the state on Wednesday that are currently under curfew amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The curfew is currently in force in Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and Ukhrul districts and will be on till June 11.
There is a need to allow some more activities to cater to the requirements of petroleum products and transporters of other goods, said chief secretary Rajesh Kumar in an order.
He further instructed the respective deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of the districts to take necessary action to strictly implement the order.

Here’s the list of additional activities allowed by Manipur Govt in 7 districts under curfew:
- Opening of workshops such as those of goods trucks, petrol tankers, LPG bullets within the municipal area have been allowed to open from 9 am to 3 pm by taking adequate measures and strictly following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
- Opening of spare parts shops:
(a) One of three spare parts shops, three tyre shops, and three battery shops of heavy vehicles in Thangal Bazaar is allowed to open from 10 am to 2 pm on all days, except Sunday. The roster in this regard to be prepared by the DC and SP of Imphal West district.(b) Authorised dealers of spare parts, tyres, and batteries of heavy vehicles located outside Thangal Bazaar may also be allowed to open from 10 am to 2 pm. This permission is subject to taking adequate precautions and strictly following Covid appropriate behaviour.
- Opening of insurance offices: a) United India Insurance, Thangal Bazaar;
(b) National Insurance Company, Thangal Bazaar;
(c) The New India Insurance Company, Chingmeirong Nepali Basti; and
(d) The Oriental India Insurance Company, Thangal Bazaar; are now allowed to open with limited staff from 10 am to 2 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
