Imphal, Nov 12: Imphal West district in Manipur witnessed violence on the night of November 11, as suspected Kuki militants launched a violent assault in the peripheral areas of Kangchup and Koutruk, leaving two individuals injured.

The attackers, reportedly armed with heavy weaponry, opened fire indiscriminately on residential areas near the boundary between Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts.

The violence escalated when the militants set fire to several houses and shops in Kangchup Chingkhong, a locality near the Kangpokpi-Imphal West border.
