Guwahati, June 12: A major water supply pipe burst occurred near Gauhati Commerce College on RG Baruah Road in Guwahati, creating chaos among the residents. The incident took place on Rajgarh Road near Commerce College Link Road, resulting in extensive damage to properties.

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority rushed to the site to assess the situation and take control of the water gush. Efforts are currently underway to bring the situation under control.

There have been no reports of injuries or casualties thus far. However, numerous local shops, including musical instrument stores, have suffered damages due to the pipe burst.

This incident comes just days after two similar pipe bursts were reported in Kharghuli, resulting in the unfortunate loss of one life. Another incident occurred in Maligaon, highlighting the urgent need to address the infrastructure issues related to water supply in the region.
