During the discussions, the HPC scheduled a final meeting in the second week of January to present the details of the blueprint to the remaining 342 families in the Harijan Colony.
Gurjit Singh, Secretary of the HPC, expressed satisfaction with the progress made, highlighting a positive trajectory towards resolution. Singh emphasized that while minor adjustments are pending, they anticipate a resolution by the next year.
Jagdeep Singh from the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee also attended the meeting, showcasing a collective effort to find an amicable solution to the relocation issue.
Deputy Chief Ministers Tynsong and Dhar confirmed the positive trajectory of the meeting and foresee a likely resolution by early 2024.
Tynsong provided specifics about the additional land allocation, stating, “Apart from the 2.14-acre plot near the Municipal Board Office, we’ve included an additional 1.4 acres opposite the Municipal Board. A total of roughly 3.6 acres has been earmarked for relocating the 342 families from the Harijan Colony.”
Addressing concerns about construction expenditure coverage, Tynsong clarified that it wasn’t part of the present discussion, as the primary focus was on finalizing the relocation blueprint. “Relocation is imperative, and we remain steadfast in our commitment,” Tynsong affirmed.
