Changlang earthquake

Itanagar, May 22: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck the region of Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday at 08:15 am. The earthquake originated at a depth of 14 kilometers with the coordinates 27.05° latitude and 97.04° longitude.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.5, Occurred on 22-05-2023, 08:15 am, Lat: 27.05 & Long: 97.04, Depth: 14 Km, Location: 86km SSE of Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh,” National Center of Seismology (NCS) tweeted.

The epicenter of the quake was located approximately 86 kilometers southeast of Changlang. The earthquake sent mild tremors through the area, causing concern among the local residents. While the magnitude of the earthquake was relatively low, it served as a reminder of the seismic activity that can occur in the region.
