Tezpur earthquake

Tezpur, May 22: An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale rattled the region near Tezpur, Assam on Monday at 08:52 am. The quake, which originated at a depth of 10 kilometers, occurred with coordinates 27.02° latitude and 92.84° longitude. The epicenter was located approximately 41 kilometers north of Tezpur.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.2, Occurred on 22-05-2023, 08:52:46 IST, Lat: 27.02 & Long: 92.84, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 41km N of Tezpur, Assam,” National Center of Seismology (NCS) tweeted.

In a sequence of seismic events, Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang region experienced an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale just moments before it struck Assam. The earthquake occurred on Monday at 08:15 am and had its epicenter located at a depth of 14 kilometers, marked by the precise coordinates of 27.05° latitude and 97.04° longitude.
