Aizawl, June 13: Ziona Chana, who is believed to head the world’s largest family, with 39 wives and 94 children and 33 grandchildren died on Sunday in Aizawl.
He breathes last at the Trinity Hospital in Aizawl. As per reports, a 76-year-old man was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Chief Minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga took the tweet, “With heavy heart, #Mizoram bid farewell to Mr. Zion-a (76), believed to head the world’s largest family, with 38 wives and 89 children. Mizoram and his village at Baktawng Tlangnuam have become a major tourist attraction in the state because of the family. Rest in Peace Sir!”

Ziona was the chief of the group is known as “Chana Pawl”, which was established by his father. Ziona was featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! top 11 strangest stories for the year 2011, and in 2013’s Ripley Believe It or Not, book 9.
The family has more than 100 rooms, in the four-story building which is located in Baktwang village, Mizoram, where his wives sleep in a giant dormitory. The family of 167, consumes 90 kg of rice and around 60 kg of potatoes a day. Moreover when it’s time for non-veg food then it takes 30 whole chickens for the family to prepare dinner for themselves.

The wives take care of cooking, while the daughters do cleaning and washing and men do outdoor jobs like farming, jobs, and many more.
