Mizoram Police to uphold stricter enforcement of lockdown guidelines

Mizoram, May 3: The Mizoram Police held a security review meeting under the leadership of Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, (IPS) DIGP (Northern Range) at the Aizawl SP Conference Hall to discuss the police duty efficiency and future restrictions for the containment of the Covid19 situation in Mizoram.

At the meeting, Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, DIG(Northern Range) advised the police officers to have a closer study of the lockdown guideline and ensure strict enforcement of the same.

He said they will round up police forces from different police units in Aizawl and plan to uphold more stringent enforcement of the Lockdown Guidelines and The Mizoram (Prevention and Containment of the spread of Covid-19) Act, 2020.

At the meeting, four Gazetted Police Officers were appointed as Zonal Officers to oversee the overall functioning of the forces in the current situation.

He advised the police duty to be reminded of the importance of their responsibility and cautioned them to uphold their duties while maintaining precaution.
