SBI Foundation donates 600 PPE Sets

Mizoram, May 28: SBI Foundation on Thursday donated 600 PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) sets worth Rs. 8,61,000 to the Mizoram government for use in Covid19 related purposes. The PPE sets were received by Health Minister Dr R. Lalthangliana and handed over by L.P. Lalchangkima, Regional Manager, SBI.

The Health Minister praised the dedication of SBI and SBI foundation saying they take action just when the state needs it the most.

We have faced many unseen challenges in the fight against Covid19, amidst such an environment, we receive generous donations from individuals, churches, and associations for which we are very grateful, he said.

L.P. Lalchangkima, Regional Manager, SBI said the PPEs were donated through “SBI Foundation.” He said they are further requesting 100 ICU beds in partnership with the Central Young Mizo Association.

The 600 PPE sets included face masks, face shields, goggles, hand gloves, shoe covers, bags for the suit and head covers, each set is worth approximately, Rs. 1435/- each.

Last year, SBI Foundation had donated 3 ventilators and 600 PPE sets while last week they had also donated 100 PPE sets.

Mizoram SBI employees had earlier contributed money to buy a morgue van which was handed over to the Health minister.
