Aizawl, April 07: The Tourism department of Mizoram holds a B2B ‘Mystical Mizoram Roadshow’ in Kolkata on 4th April at one of the most prestigious hotels in the city.

Speaking at the event, the director of Mizoram Tourism, Vantawl Lalengmawia discuss the need to capture the Bengali tourist and work in bridging the gap between West Bengal and Mizoram through the tourism industry. He also stretches on the Bengalis as avid travelers and is the most widely traveled people in India for they are looking for a new destination.

Vantawl spoke about the easy accessibility of Aizawl from West Bengal which can be reached within 45 minutes from Kolkata with the daily flight services. This is much lesser time taken for reaching Durgapur from the city takes around 3 hours.

He invited tour operators of Bengal to experience the nature and culture of Mizoram before sending their clients to the “land of the hill people”.

He added that the Mizoram Responsible Tourism Policy 2020 is the first such kind in the country. This aim is to focus and developing services that promote tourism sustainably and responsibly with the diversification of tourism products. The creation of employment opportunities for the people so that the benefits of tourism should directly reach the people.

He wanted the people of Bengal to explore the Mizoram market. He wanted to connect people to open a new chapter of tourism between West Bengal and Mizoram. That will also help to boost the economy of both states.

The Director also conveyed the message of Mizoram tourism minister Robert Romawia Royte, that Familiarization Tour for the Tour Operators in Kolkata would be conducted shortly.
