Kohima, Aug 14: Wokha farmer Yilobemo Erui has achieved a Guinness World Record for growing the tallest coriander plant, measuring 2.77 meters.

The plant was cultivated organically, without the use of fertilizers, and has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

Erui and his family expressed their gratitude, highlighting that this accomplishment brings pride to their village, district, and state.

In a related effort, a team of artisans in Ranaghat, Nadia district, West Bengal, is working to set a new Guinness World Record by creating a 125-foot Durga idol for this year’s Durga Puja.

Led by Abhiyan Sangh from Kamalpur village, the team dedicates 12 to 14 hours daily to sculpt the massive figure using clay, straw, and bamboo.

This ambitious project aims to surpass last year’s record, held by a Kolkata club with an 88-foot Durga idol.

To prevent previous issues with overcrowding and damage, the new idol will feature a fibre cast for improved durability and reduced weight.
