NDA govt believes northeast is a growth engine for India, says PM Modi in Manipur

Manipur, Feb 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the election rallies in Imphal Manipur and Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich.

While addressing the public meeting at the Imphal’s Luwangsangbam sports complex PM said that the “NDA government believes that the [northeast] region is the growth engine for India. Last month, Manipur completed 50 years of its formation. The state has witnessed several governments in the last few decades. After decades of Congress rule, Manipur got only inequality.”

Prime Minister also mentions the work done in the last 5 years under the leadership of N Biren Singh, “In the last five years, our government has aimed to develop Manipur. You’ve witnessed BJP’s good governance as well as good intention.”

At a rally in Manipur, PM Modi targets the congress by saying that “The BJP government has made the impossible possible. Every region of Manipur has had relief from bandhs and blockades. Congress, on the other hand, had made bandhs and blockades the main feature of Manipur. The BJP government has written a new chapter of change for Manipur, taking everyone forward. The youth has given up arms and is coming forward to lead the development surge.”

Speaking in Imphal, PM Modi said, “Every 7 out of 10 Manipuris are now benefiting from the free ration. Further, former governments never made the lives of Manipuri women easy. Only the NDA government understood their problems and worked towards making their lives better.”

Bharatiya Janata Party supporters have gathered at Imphal’s Luwangsangbam sports complex Manipur for the rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Last week Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had released its election manifesto for the 2022 Manipur assembly polls and promised a host of ‘freebies’ while focusing on the protection of territorial integrity and preserving the rights of the indigenous people of Manipur and its rich culture. Manipur will go to the polls in two phases on February 28 and March 5.
