New rate package for Swasthya Sathi: chief secretary of Bengal

Bengal, Feb 9: The state government has set up a four-member committee headed by the Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay to look into the issue related to the revision of “rates for treatment packages” under the Swasthya Sathi scheme.

“In one of the meetings we have discussed the point of view of the hospitals and nursing homes regarding the rates for treatment packages under the Swasthya Sathi scheme. Rationalization, an upward revision of the rate will be finalized as soon as possible,” Chief Secretary said

We have requested all the hospital and nursing home authorities to be a part of Swasthya Sathi and do not return any of the patients. They told us to revise the rate of packages which will not harm anyone. After navigation and discussion we able to increase the rate at some point,” he said.

This comes after the massive drive was launched to cover every resident of Bengal under the scheme.

“Medical management feel like there is a chance to increase in that sector. In some sectors of specialization and surgery, we may increase the rate of that package. We will look after the package of the Discharge and approval process,” Alapan Bandopadhyay said.

Overall we all feel that the public health care providers and the private service givers of both government and the non-government sector should work together for the well-being of humans by Swasthya Sathi scheme,” Alapan Bandopadhyay added.

The four-member committee headed by Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay also comprises Home Secretary HK Dwivedi, Finance Secretary Manoj Pant, and Health Secretary NS Nigam.
