Aizawl, April 01: The northern district of Mizoram was struck by a devastating hailstorm in the early hours of Monday morning, causing widespread destruction to over 200 rooftops across several districts.
The hailstorm, which occurred around 1 AM, left a path of devastation, particularly affecting houses with tin or corrugated rooftops.
Reports from the Village Council President (VCP) of Bilkhawthlir Hmar Veng, a local area, indicate that approximately 100 houses suffered significant damage due to the hailstorm.

The hailstones, unusually large, caused extensive destruction, shattering the glass of vehicles parked outside homes.
The impact of the hailstorm was felt in neighboring localities as well. The VCP of Bilkhawthlir South reported additional damage to around 130 houses in the area, many of which also had tin or corrugated rooftops.
Concerns remain high as residents continue to assess the aftermath of the storm, with the possibility of more damage reports emerging.
