NSCN militants apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh

Two NSCN militants apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh by Indian Army:

Guwahati, May 15: Indian army had apprehended two hardcore militants of NSCN fraction groups along with arms in two separate operations in Arunachal Pradesh.

The troops of Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Arunachal Pradesh police had apprehended a militant of NSCN(KK) near Sankha Havi in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.

Based on a specific input, the joint team launched an operation in the area and apprehended the militant and he was identified as self styled Corporal Tonlang Pangtha.

The security personnel had recovered one 9 mm pistol with magazine, nine rounds of live ammunition, and one mobile phone in possession from the militant.

Later, the apprehended militant along with recovered items was handed over to Changlang police station for further investigations.

In a separate operation, the Indian army and Arunachal Pradesh police had nabbed a hardcore militant of NSCN (IM) near Longphong village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district.

Guwahati based Defence PRO Lt Col P Khongsai said that, the nabbed NSCN (IM) militant was identified as self-styled Sergeant Major Puman Wangsu andhe was allegedly involved in the assassination of an Ex-MLA of Arunachal Pradesh and 10 other persons last year.

The apprehended militant was handed over to Longding police station for further investigations.
