Rishikesh, Jan 26: On the momentous occasion of the 75th Republic Day celebrations, the ‘Shivalinga’ at Chandreshwar Mahadev temple in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, and the Baba Mahakaleshwar ‘shivlinga’ in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, was adorned with the vibrant colors of the national flag, symbolizing the unity and pride of the nation.
In Rishikesh, the Chandreshwar temple has a tradition of embellishing the ‘shivalinga’ with the hues of the Indian flag, a practice repeated this year to mark Republic Day.
The sacred ‘shivalinga’ was meticulously decorated with offerings such as rice, rose petals, marigold petals, and leaves. The temple priests conducted the morning ‘aarti,’ accompanied by Vedic prayers, enhancing the spiritual significance of the celebration.
The Baba Mahakaleshwar ‘shivlinga’ in Ujjain also radiated the patriotic spirit as it was adorned with the tricolor, mirroring the grandeur of the Republic Day festivities.

The 75th Republic Day parade showcased the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat: Loktantra ki Matruka,’ symbolizing the nation’s developmental aspirations and its pivotal role as the nurturer of democracy.

A historic moment unfolded during the Republic Day parade as an all-women tri-service contingent marched down Kartavya Path, highlighting the theme of ‘women empowerment.’
The parade featured 26 tableaux showcasing the significant contributions of women scientists and their roles in various socio-economic activities.
The Indian Navy’s tableau, themed ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘Atmanirbharta,’ showcased prominent vessels like the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, Navy ships Delhi, Kolkata, Shivalik, and the Kalvari class Submarine.
The Central Armed Police women personnel exhibited their strength with a display of ‘Naari Shakti,’ while an impressive contingent of 265 women bikers on motorcycles showcased their bravery.
Adding a unique flavor to the Republic Day parade, the Delhi Police presented an all-women band, led by Band Master Sub Inspector Ruyangunuo Kense.
Comprising 4 Women Sub-inspectors and 81 Women Constables, the band debuted in the Republic Day parade, playing the ‘Delhi Police Song’ and further underscoring the theme of women’s empowerment.
