New Delhi, Jan 26: The Centre has announced the recipients of the prestigious Padma Awards, with former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, actors Chiranjeevi, Vyjayantimala Bali, and others being honored.

Padma Vibhushan Awardees:

  1. Venkaiah Naidu: Former Vice President.
  2. Chiranjeevi: Renowned actor.
  3. Vyjayantimala Bali: Accomplished actor and dancer.
  4. Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumous): Known for the Sulabh public toilet system.
  5. Padma Subrahmanyam: Bharatanatyam exponent.

This year’s Padma Vibhushan awardees have significant contributions from southern states, reflecting diverse fields of achievement.

  1. Mithun Chakraborty: Veteran actor.
  2. Young Liu: Chairman of Foxconn.

  1. Usha Uthup: Queen of pop music.
  2. Vijaykanth: Actor.
  3. Ram Naik: Veteran BJP leader, and former Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
  4. Olanchery Rajagopal: Former Rajya Sabha MP.

  • Tejas Madhusudan Patel (Medicine): From Gujarat.

  • Togdan Rinpoche (Others – Spiritualism): From Ladakh.
  • Pyarelal Sharma (Art): From Maharashtra.
  • Chandreshwar Prasad Thakur (Medicine): From Bihar.
