Panaji, Jan 03: In a video widely shared on Twitter, a large crowd was observed at a prominent tourist location in Goa’s Baga Beach despite the state’s concern about the Covid spike.
Since late December, when revelers gathered in the coastal state for the Christmas-New Year party season, Goa has seen a large influx of tourists.
However, the country is facing a massive steep rise in the covid cases. Experts are estimating the rise as the third wave of the pandemic.
The video has been circulated within a short span of time. The video was witnessed by more than sixty-one thousand and had acquired over six hundred likes.
Hundreds of people can be seen going down a street in the video.
Officials claim that the massive number of tourists has resulted in the COVID-19 positive rate crossing 10% on Sunday.
