Prime Minister Modi assures support to Mizoram after back to back tremors
June 22: After two back to back tremors of moderate-intensity were felt in Mizoram within 12 hours Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised all support to the northeastern state.
After reviewing the situation on Monday, the Prime Minister tweeted, “Spoke to the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Shri @ZoramthangaCM Ji on the situation in the wake of the earthquake there. Assured all possible support from the Centre.“

Home Minister Amit Shah has also reviewed the situation and thereafter he tweeted, “I have spoken to Shri @ZoramthangaCM Ji, Chief Minister of Mizoram, to review the situation after the earthquake tremors in the state. I assured him all possible support from the central government. Praying for everyone’s safety and well-being.“
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga took to Twitter to thank both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on Monday.

Mizoram experienced 2 tremors of 5.1 magnitude and 5.3 magnitude on the Richter scale near Aizawl and Champai respectively in the last 24 hours.
No casualties have been reported so far in the state and assessment of the damage caused is going on. However, according to the National Centre of Seismology 20 tremors ranging from low to moderate intensity have been recorded in India.
