Bengaluru, Aug 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bengaluru to express his congratulations and engage with the ISRO scientists responsible for the Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon.

Following the BRICS summit in South Africa and a maiden visit to Greece, PM Modi arrived at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru to greet the scientists behind the historic Chandrayaan-3 mission.

PM Modi was warmly welcomed at ISTRAC by ISRO chief S Somanath and other scientists who played pivotal roles in the mission.

During his address to the scientists, PM Modi lauded their accomplishments, describing them as some of the most inspiring moments of our era. He emphasized that the entire world now recognizes India’s prowess in the field of science and technology.

Before heading to ISTRAC, PM Modi addressed a gathering in Bengaluru, commencing his speech with “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.” He expressed that not only Indians but people worldwide who believe in the power of science are filled with enthusiasm. He further revealed that he had decided to visit Bengaluru to pay tribute to the scientists who made Chandrayaan-3’s success possible.

Notably, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar were not present on stage with the Prime Minister. PM Modi explained that he had requested these leaders not to inconvenience themselves by waking up very early in the morning to receive him.

PM Modi had previously expressed his admiration for the ISRO scientists responsible for Chandrayaan-3’s success, calling them “exceptional” and expressing his eagerness to interact with them during his visit to Bengaluru. In a social media post before his visit, he stated, “Their dedication and passion are the driving forces behind our nation’s achievements in the space sector.”

PM Modi virtually witnessed the successful lunar touchdown of the Chandrayaan-3 lander from Johannesburg while attending the BRICS summit on the previous day. The achievement was momentous, further cementing India’s position in the global space arena.
