Gandhinagar, Jan 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. This three-day event, celebrating ’20 years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success,’ is witnessing participation from 34 partner countries and delegates from over 130 countries.

Origins of Vibrant Gujarat Summit:

The concept of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit began in 2003 under PM Modi’s leadership when he served as the chief minister of the state. The inaugural edition attracted over 1,000 delegates and dignitaries from 45 countries during the Navratri festival.

Key Participants and Chief Guest:

  • The event is being attended by global leaders, and the chief guest for the inaugural event is the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
  • This year’s theme is ‘Gateway to the Future.’

Global Relevance:

  • The summit will host seminars and conferences on various globally relevant topics, including industry 4.0, technology and innovation, sustainable manufacturing, green hydrogen, electric mobility, renewable energy, and the transition towards sustainability.
  • Numerous projects and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, contributing to industrial and technological growth in Gujarat.

Focus on North-Eastern Regions:

  • The Ministry of Development of the North-Eastern Region aims to showcase investment prospects in the North-Eastern regions.

Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX):

  • The Innovations for Defence Excellence-Defence Innovation Organization (iDEX-DIO) will exhibit futuristic technologies in unmanned solutions, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and advanced materials.

Inauguration by PM Modi:

  • Ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, PM Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Trade Show in Gandhinagar.

  • Spread across two lakh square meters, the exhibition at the Helipad Ground Exhibition Centre focuses on themes such as ‘Make in Gujarat’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’

Highlighted Topics:

  • The show will emphasize women’s empowerment, MSME development, new technology, green and smart infrastructure, and sustainable energy.
  • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will showcase its capabilities with a focus on ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’

Exclusive Vegetarian Thali:

  • Leela Hotel has organized exclusive vegetarian meals, named ‘Vibrant Bharat Thali,’ for the 136 delegates at the summit.
  • The thali includes various vegetarian dishes, offering a taste of India and Gujarat.
  • Special millet-based dishes in local authentic forms will be served on the second day, with a networking dinner and cultural programs on the third day.
