Guwahati, April 07: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to undertake a daylong visit to Assam ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, adding momentum to the campaign trail.
On April 17, PM Modi is scheduled to address a significant public rally in the Nalbari district, amplifying the election fervor in the region.
The rally is slated to unfold at Bidanchal ground in Borkura, falling within the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency. Organizers are gearing up for a massive turnout, anticipating over two lakh attendees to grace the event.
This marks PM Modi’s inaugural election address in Assam since the announcement of the election schedule by the Election Commission of India. Energized BJP leaders and workers in Assam are rallying their efforts to ensure the success of this crucial occasion.

Assam, boasting 14 parliamentary seats, stands as a pivotal battleground where polling will unfold in three phases – April 19, April 26, and May 7. Nationwide, elections to 543 Lok Sabha seats will unfold across seven phases starting from April 19th.
Approximately 96.8 crore eligible voters are poised to cast their ballots at over 12 lakh polling stations, with vote counting slated for June 4.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP clinched nine seats in Assam, with Congress and the All India United Democratic Front (AIDUF) securing three and one seat respectively. The BJP emerged with a majority vote share at 36.4%, closely trailed by Congress at 35.8%.
