PM Modi visits Ladakh Nimoo; Will boost soldiers’ morale, says Rajnath Singh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Nimmo in Ladakh to review the ground situation amid the India China tensions.
A violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops which occurred at Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on June 15 killed 20 Indian jawans including the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, Colonel B. Santosh Babu.
He was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief, General Manoj Mukund Naravane.
After arrival in Nimoo at 11,000 ft early in the morning, he was briefed by senior officials about the current situations prevailing in the area. He interacted with other officials as well.

The tensions between the two countries have been building up since the Galwan Valley clash which had claimed the lives of 20 Indian Jawans and left many injured.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has thanked PM Modi for visiting the soldiers at the border and has said that the visit has revitalized the confidence and morale of the soldiers.
“No party should engage in any action that may escalate the situation at this point.” Zhou Lijjan, spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has commented on the Prime Minister’s visit to Nimoo.
