Police apprehend three COVID-19 patients who escaped from Guwahati quarantine center

Guwahati, May 20: Assam police finally apprehend three COVID-19 patients who had escaped from a quarantine center in Guwahati.

According to the reports, three COVID-19 patients who were at the Sarusajai stadium quarantine center in Guwahati had escaped from the center on Tuesday night.

Out of the three fled patients two were from Nalbari district and one from Hojai district.

Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the fled patients were identified as Hamidul Ahmed, Shajahal Ali of Nalbari, and Saidul Alam of Hojai.

Later, Assam police had managed to apprehend the fled COVID-19 patients and made necessary arrangements.

Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “3 #Covid19 patients Hamidul Ahmed & Shajahal Ali of Nalbari; Md Saidul Alam of Hojai escaped from Sarusajai quar center causing us immense stress. Thanks to @nalbari_police & @Hojai_Police for apprehending them in time. Such acts shall attract punitive measures. @assampolice.”

Assam has reported 157 positive cases for COVID-19 so far.
