Police seized large numbers of used explosives, shells, ammunition in Assam’s Baksa

Guwahati, Oct 13: In an operation against terror activists, police had seized a large number of used explosives, shells, ammunition in Assam’s Baksa district.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input a police team of Kumarikata outpost had launched an operation at Kumarikata Darranga area in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) district and seized the used explosives, shells, munitions and ammunition from the area.

An official of Baksa district police said that miscreants had procured the seized items from the Darranga field firing range of the army.

The police team had seized 151 numbers of TPT shells, five numbers of 84mm shells, three numbers of big shells, 200 kg of used heads of ammunition and munitions.

Baksa district police tweeted – “In a successful Ops against terror activists, IC of Kumarikata Op and team conducted search and seized large numbers of used explosives, shells, munitions & ammunitions. Miscreants procured the items from Darranga Field Firing Range of Army.”

Darranga Field Firing Range which is under the Tamulpur-based 107 Mountain Brigade – is the only field firing range in the lower and central Assam region.
