Guwahati, Oct 12: President Droupadi Murmu will be in Assam for a two-day tour from October 13, in her first visit to the state after taking over the top post, state Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced on Tuesday.

The President will arrive at Guwahati on Thursday and could attend a programme at IIT Guwahati, he informed media individuals here, and participate in numerous authorities programmes.

He stated that she can be able to inaugurate the Dhubri Medical College and Hospital and could attend a civic programme to be held at Assam Administrative Staff College, in which at least 500 renowned persons throughout the kingdom will engage with her.

The President will go to Kamakhya Temple on the morning of October 14.

According to the Minister, at a scheduled software in Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra afterward the day, the President will lay the muse stone of 2,000 Anganwadi centres, one hundred tea lawn schools, and numerous kingdom and Central authorities schemes.

Murmu will go away on Friday evening.
