Guwahati, Jan 17: In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the apparent lack of infrastructural development in Nagaland and the overall neglect of the northeastern states.

Speaking at a public rally in Nagaland during the third day of the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi questioned the Prime Minister’s commitment to development, particularly in the context of the challenges faced by the people of Nagaland.

Directly addressing PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi remarked, “Your tall claims of development demand firsthand experience. Have you braved the broken roads that Nagaland’s people navigate daily?”

He went on to express his concern about the injustice and betrayal faced by the people of Nagaland who have to endure poor road conditions regularly.

Gandhi emphasized that the inadequate infrastructure hinders the prospects of bringing a positive future to the young people of Nagaland.

Rahul Gandhi underlined the significance of providing justice to the people and making politics, society, and the economic structure more equal and accessible to everyone.

He urged that the people of Nagaland, despite hailing from a “small state,” should feel at par with others in the country.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, inaugurated from Manipur’s Thoubal district on January 14, is set to traverse 15 states and cover 100 Lok Sabha seats. Rahul Gandhi’s journey spans over 6,700 kilometers, touching 110 districts over 67 days.
