Imphal, March 30: Arambai Tenggol’s Laishram Robason, acting as the ‘Control Room Operator,’ has issued a press release outlining restrictions on election campaigns ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections in Manipur.

Given the tense atmosphere prevailing in the state, the release discourages traditional election campaign activities such as feasts, loudspeakers, flag-raising, and public meetings. These activities, deemed divisive, have the potential to incite conflict and violence.

Citizens are advised to refrain from participating in such campaigns and instead make informed choices regarding their preferred candidates without external influence.

On the final day of nomination filing for the 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Election, six additional candidates submitted their nominations at the Office of the Returning Officer in Lamphelpat, Imphal West. This brings the total number of contenders for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election to seven.
