New Delhi, Feb 02: In anticipation of protests planned by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi, security measures have been heightened, and traffic diversions are in place.
The AAP has called for a protest outside the BJP headquarters, accusing them of cheating in the Chandigarh mayoral polls. In response, the BJP announced a demonstration near the AAP office to protest against alleged corruption in the Kejriwal government.
Despite the Delhi Police denying permission for the protests, information suggests the arrival of AAP workers from Punjab. Around 1,000 police personnel will be deployed across different areas of the national capital to ensure law and order.

“We will make adequate security arrangements for the protest and maintain law and order. Additional forces will also be deployed. No one will be allowed to breach law and order,” stated an officer.
To facilitate security measures, traffic diversions will be implemented, diverting vehicular movement from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg to alternative routes on the protest day.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann are expected to participate in the protest.
The BJP secured a victory in the Chandigarh mayoral polls on Tuesday, dealing a setback to the Congress and the AAP, both part of the opposition INDIA bloc.
