Arunachal Pradesh, August 11: An entire district of Shi-Yomi in Arunachal Pradesh has been declared COVID free!

The Shi-Yomi district in Arunachal Pradesh has been declared free of Covid-19 after the release of a mother-son duo from the Mechuka Quarantine Center on 1st August.

With the release of the patients, the Shi-Yomi district has been declared COVID-free,” officials said.

The patients were discharged after their COVID test results came negative for two consecutive times following ICMR protocols.

Dr Akar Koje and Dr Inu Ete handed over the discharge certificates in the presence of frontline workers. With their release, the district has been marked Covid-19 free. The first two cases in the district had been reported on July 29th when both patients who tested positive for the virus had travelled from East Siang and Assam respectively.

The state currently has reported 690 active cases till Tuesday and has a recovery rate of 68.77%. There have been 3 deaths until now.
