Gangtok, Feb 06: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Hishey Lachungpa has raised concerns about the ongoing connectivity crisis in Lachen, North Sikkim, during a meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Lachungpa highlighted the severe disruption caused by the Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) over four months ago, which left Lachen isolated from vital road links. Despite the passage of time, the region remains cut off, impacting civilian life and military operations.

The appeal underscores the urgent need to restore connectivity from Chungthang to Lachen, emphasizing the challenges faced by residents and the Indian Army stationed in the area.
