Gangtok, Oct 12: Two-tier panchayat elections in Sikkim will take place on November 10, for which the model code conduct came into force on Tuesday, an official stated.

State Election Commissioner K C Lepcha stated a complete of 4.09 lakh citizens will workout their franchise to spot their representatives in 122 Zila panchayat and 197-gram panchayat seats unfold over 6 districts – Gangtok, Pakyong, Mangan, Geyzing, Soreng, and Namchi.

Candidates can report their nominations until October 18, at the same time as the scrutiny of nomination papers may be held the following day.
